Did You Know?

Bible Trivia! Some cringe when they hear this game is up next, while others pump their fists in excitement. Maybe you’re the person everyone wants to be on their team, or maybe you’re the one no one wants on their team. There are so many fascinating things in the Bible, many of which most people didn’t even know were there! So, I’d like to take this moment to share some of my obscure, but cool, facts that will help you crush the competition the next time you play Bible trivia.

1. There are two animals that speak in the Bible: a snake and a Donkey.

2. God is all throughout the Bible, but Esther is the only book of the Bible that does not mention God’s name.

3. Most people know Jesus as a man of love and forgiveness but did you know that he spoke more about hell than anyone else in the Bible?

4. We all know that John 8:35 “Jesus wept” is the shortest verse but did you know that Esther 8:9 is the longest? But if you go by the original language Revelation 20:4 is the longest verse.

5. Paul preached so long that a young man fell asleep and the poor man fell out of the window he was sitting on and died! Then Paul raised him back to life again and then kept preaching. The man’s name was Eutychus

6. All of the left-handed people mentioned in the Bible were from the tribe of Benjamin. The only one named is Ehud from the book of Judges

7. Samson wasn’t the only one to kill a lion nor was David the only one to kill a giant. A man named Benaiah, who was in David’s army, also accomplished those feats

8. Absalom (David’s son) had long locks of hair. The Bible says He cut it yearly because it became too heavy for him. It weighed 5 pounds! Unfortunately, his hair also became his downfall as when he fled from his father it got caught in a tree and he was captured.

Well, now you know! I hope these fun facts help you the next time your friends want to play Bible trivia or have a fun fact face-off.
