1. How often do the classes meet?

Classes are usually held once per week for 13 consecutive weeks. Check with your church for scheduling.

2. How long is each class session?

Each class session typically lasts two hours. Check with your church for exact times.

  • The first hour consists of financial teaching by Dave Ramsey via video.
  • The second hour consists of small group discussion, which will allow you to apply the principles to your daily life. The group's members will help to hold each other accountable and support each other during the process of transforming your finances and your future. The small group discussions are crucial because when it come to personal finances, it's 80% behavior and 20% knowledge!

3. What are the subjects covered in each lesson?
Lesson 1: Super Savers
Teaches the importance of saving money and how to get the best return on your money.

Lesson 2: Cash Flow Planning
Will teach you step-by-step how to put together a zero-based monthly budget and walk through how to complete all of the financial management forms with samples included.

Lesson 3: Relating with Money
Is about the importance of working together in relationships and how we handle money.

Lesson 4: Buying Only Big, Big Bargains
Teaches Dave's personal techniques on how to negotiate and get the very best deals when buying something.

Lesson 5: Dumping Debt
Teaches how to get out of debt and stay out of debt.

Lesson 6: Understanding Investments
Teaches the difference between stocks, bonds, mutual funds, CDs, annuities, and where you can get the very best return on your hard-earned money.

Lesson 7: Understanding Insurance
Will help you learn the types of coverages you need when it comes to health insurance, homeowner and car insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance.

Lesson 8: Retirement and College Planning
Teaches about the new Roth IRA, about how much to put into your SEPP and 401(k) or 403(b) plans and how to best fund your child's college education.

Lesson 9: Buyer Beware
Warns you about how you are being marketed to and teaches you the keys to developing the power over purchases.

Lesson 10: Real Estate and Mortgages
Will teach you the best way to buy and sell a house, the difference between a 15- and 30-year mortgage, and the best ways to finance a home.

Teaches the importance of doing with your life that which you love.

Teaches you how to check and clean up your credit report and deal with collection agencies.

5. Who benefits from this program?

Everyone truly benefits from this program! Regardless of your age (be it 21 or 61), regardless of your income (be it $12,000 or over $100,000 per year), and regardless of your marital status, YOU can benefit from FPU!

6. Are there refunds if I do not like the program?
